Tupelo Furniture and Design is a small firm created by two people passionate about interior design and building beautifully hand-crafted furniture and fine custom cabinetry. Owners Jonathan and Jess Lootens began refining their artistic passions by pursuing a formal training at what are two of the finest schools in their respective fields. Jonathan graduated with honours in the Architectural Millwork program at Conestoga College in Kitchener while Jess graduated with honours from the highly regarded Interior Design program at Sheridan College in Oakville. With this complimentary pairing of craftsmanship and design talent you can be confident that the stage is set for a successful, disciplined culmination of your special project in terms of quality, functionality, and aesthetics.
After graduation Jonathan continued to gain hands-on experience by working alongside a custom furniture maker in St. Jacob’s. While being there, Jonathan absorbed a healthy dose of traditional woodworking knowledge by building fine furniture in his favourite medium- solid, locally sourced wood.
Jess worked for an established design firm in Guelph for a number of years, managing and leading large scale projects. Now she lends her formidable design skills to all of Jonathan’s creations as well as managing her own interior design projects.
